Know YOUR Rights

If your Administrator would like a meeting to discuss your attendance, you have the right to respectfully decline and/or request a Union Representative. Administrators are not permitted to ask for any details of your medical situation.

If you chose to attend the meeting, they are meant to be supportive, and you can find what to expect by reading the HPASP FAQ’s.

We strongly advise that you have a Union Representative present should some/all of the absences be related to one of the following extenuating circumstances. You can find the required documents for the conditions stated attached below. You can meet with your Admin or request to meet with your Abilities Partner.

  • A chronic medical condition that may impact your ability attend work on a regular basis.
  • Surgery or Medical Procedure that impacted your ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Personal medical appointments that had/may impact your ability attend work on a regular basis.
  • A health condition that is associated with your active PDSB Medical Workplace Accommodation Program/Return to Work Agreement.
  • Pre-family planning that may impact your ability attend work on a regular basis
  • Prenatal/Pregnancy that may impact your ability attend work on a regular basis.
