GMM & Updates

Good afternoon Members,

General Membership Meeting (GMM)

We are very pleased to announce that our By Laws were passed at last night’s GMM. The By Laws will now be sent to OPSEU’s President for approval and once they are approved, they will be sent out to all members. A big thank you to everyone who attended the meeting.

A raffle was held for 2-$50 gift cards for all those who attended and remained at the meeting until the end. The winners were Vanja Todorovska, and Ruta Jazokas. Congratulations to both of you!

Watch for more opportunities to win prizes.

Health & Safety

The MJHSC requires Designated Workers (DW) and Alternate Workers (AW) at all workplaces. An email was sent last week for applying to these positions. Please consider doing your part and becoming a DW or AW for your location. You will be fully trained and will be required to conduct workplace inspections once a month. Workplace safety starts with you.

Annual Offence Declaration

We have been made aware that several of our members have not completed their Offence Declaration for this year. All members have been emailed by the employer to ensure they have it completed.

If you already completed it and are still getting the messages that you didn’t, please contact Human Resources by emailing criminalbackgroundcheck@peelsb.com.

If you completed it between April 14 and April 18, unfortunately it has been deleted and cannot be retrieved and you will need to complete it again ASAP. You can also log into Vista by clicking the following link https://myvista.peelschools.org.

Casual members who have not completed the declaration by September 1, 2022 WILL be terminated from employment.

In Solidarity,
