The Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) Committee is dedicated to advocating for the rights, recognition, and professional growth of DECE members. We strive to foster a collaborative environment that empowers our members, enhances their working conditions, and promotes equity and respect within our local and PDSB. In addition, build solidarity among ALL members (DECE and EA) and strengthen our collective power within our Local and beyond.
Our goal is to support and encourage the voices of our DECE members by:
- Creating a sense of community
- Encouraging participation in all matters pertaining to our role
- Ensure our voices are heard in collective bargaining, policy making, and workplace decisions
- Creating a secure space (platform) where people can voice their opinions, ask questions, and receive answers.
- Providing our members with the tools they need to find their appropriate place in the kindergarten classroom/kindergarten team/Local 2100.
- Sourcing and information gathering and distribution to members for continued learning opportunities.
- Providing a forum for open discussion and dialogue
