Convention is the union’s highest ranking authority, where Delegates debate and vote on policy and constitutional motions.
The General Business of Convention Includes the Following:
- Financial Statements
- Budget 2025
- Member Resolutions and Constitutional Amendments
- Report of the Executive Board
The membership will be electing 8 Delegates and up to 9 Alternates to attend. NEW: This year, OPSEU 2100 will be covering the expenses to send 2 Alternates to attend in person, and 2 Alternates to attend virtually. The 4 highest ranked Alternates will be provided more details after the election. Please note – Elected Delegates/Alternates are expected to stay for the duration and will NOT be paid to attend outside of working hours.
If you would like to self-nominate, or would like to nominate another member, email a completed and signed nomination form to president@opseu2100.ca. All nominations must be submitted prior to the close of the GMM at 6:30pm on February 3, 2026. If we do not meet quorum at the GMM no nominations can be received from the floor, therefore, nominations must be submitted no later than 6:00pm on February 3rd, 2026. Candidates are welcome to submit a speech in PDF format and a photo for our website. Speeches and photos can be emailed to president@opseu2100.ca.
Elections will take place via Simply Voting and conducted by plurality (ranked from highest to lowest) on the following days.
Elections for Delegates will take place on
February 4th from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
Election for Alternates will take place on
February 5th from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
