To fully participate in union activities and governance, it is important to maintain membership in good standing. This status ensures your right to engage in the union’s democratic processes.
Members in good standing are eligible to attend and vote at membership meetings, run for elected office, participate in union elections, serve as Delegates at union events, and take part in other official union activities.
To become a member in good standing, please complete and submit a membership application form. Once your application has been processed, your membership card will be mailed to you, and you will gain access to all associated union benefits, including eligibility for strike pay in the event of a labour dispute.
After OPSEU Central (Head Office) processes your application, a confirmation email will be sent to the Secretary-Treasurer, who will contact you directly with additional information and next steps.
