Our Local is made up of Executive Officers who are elected by the membership and specialize in different areas and support members experiencing workplace issues.

Union Stewards are elected by the membership and responsible for communication between the Executive Officers and the membership. These trained Stewards assist members on site as the need arises. If you have problems at work, discuss them with your Steward, often your Steward can resolve them quickly. Click here to find your Steward.
Members can join a committee(s) anytime throughout the school year and are encouraged to participate in committees to familiarize themselves with the various aspects of the union and to gain leadership experience. The Member Advocacy & Engagement Committee is dedicated to fostering a union culture where every member feels empowered, informed, and supported. Our mission is to identify and dismantle barriers to member engagement, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued. Through education, outreach, and skill-building initiatives, we strive to equip members with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves and their colleagues. By strengthening solidarity and promoting active participation, we work towards a more inclusive, effective, and united local.
The Local Health and Safety Committee is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all members in the workplace. We strive to foster a culture of safety through collaboration, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to identify potential hazards, implement effective safety practices, and empower our members to actively participate in creating a safer work environment. Together, we aim to protect the rights and dignity of every worker, ensuring a workplace where everyone can thrive.
Trustees are elected by the local membership, and their duties include examining the local’s records and properties, filing audit reports, and ensuring that the local’s spending is accounted for and falls within the local’s by-laws.
