Local 2100

Overview of OPSEU 2100

OPSEU Local 2100 represents over 4000 members and as front line advocates, we strive to provide quality service and ensure member rights are protected.

OPSEU Local 2100 membership is comprised of educational professionals working in the Peel District School Board. Members include Educational Assistants, Behavioural Educational Assistants, Designated Early Childhood Practitioners, Child & Youth Workers and a range of other roles supporting student success in permanent and casual roles. OPSEU Local 2100 members advocate for children and are vital, contributing members of the school community. Our membership has grown and continues to grow alongside the enrollment of students with special needs.

Locations within the Board have Union Stewards who are responsible for communication between the Executive and the membership. These trained Stewards assist members on site as the need arises.

The Union has a variety of Committees. Members are strongly encouraged to participate on Committees to familiarize themselves with the various aspects of the Union. An Executive member sits on every Committee.

Communication is key for the membership to receive up-to-date and valuable information and members are encouraged to sign up for the mailing list as Union business cannot be conducted on Peel Board email. Critical information is communicated through the mailing list.

General Meetings are held throughout the year and the Annual General Meeting is held each Spring. Meetings are a key way for members to receive information either in person or through their Steward.

The Union is governed by OPSEU’s Constitution. This document outlines the rules and regulations supporting the Union structure.
